What should you expect if you choose to visit our ministry?

Worship

You should expect to be greeted by friendly people that encourage each other with a desire to please God. Therefore our worship is designed to be uplifting and reflective. Our desire is to turn our focus toward God because worship is all about Him. This God-centered philosophy is reflected in our style of worship.

Children

We love children of all ages and provide excellent childcare during the service. If you have a child two years or younger we ask that you register them in our nursery. Our nursery staff is screened, trained and well-qualified. They will be happy to assist you with any questions or special needs. We also have exciting kids programs for children all the way up through sixth grade. Our ushers or greeters will gladly direct you to the location of the kids programs.

Dress

At Cornerstone, we don’t have any dress code. We don’t believe that certain clothes are inherently more spiritual than others. Some folks will be dressed more formal and others somewhat casual.  Pastor generally wears a coat and tie to preach.  Our goal through our music, our dress and even our appearance is to display a respect that God deserves.

We believe that God is our primary audience in worship, and so we seek to design our services to be God-focused, rather than man-centered. We hope that anyone who visits will feel the friendliness and acceptance of our church family, but will also notice the reverence of people coming into the presence of the King of the universe.

What time are the services?
Our summer schedule includes:

1) Sunday Morning Worship Service is at 10:00 AM;

2) Sunday evening Small Group Studies at 5:30 PM (the 2nd and 4th Sundays);

3) Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting at 7:00 PM (devotional and prayer time).

How do I get to Cornerstone Baptist Church?
Sunday mornings we are located just north of Reed Rd in Lake-in-the-Hills at 9625 Haligus Rd (Marlowe Middle School cafeteria).  We are approximately one mile east of Rt. 47 and one quarter mile north of Algonquin Rd.

Sunday evening and Wednesday evening we meet at various locations, so please contact us if you are interested.

What about your place of worship and is it handicap accessible?
We meet in a five year old public school that offers cheery and comfortable worship conditions. It also offers convenient state-of-the art bathroom facilities, great lighting and spaciousness.  Parking is abundant and a wheel chair is available if needed or accessible if you have one.

What happens when I get there?
You will be warmly welcomed by one of our greeters and directed to the appropriate location for worship.  If you have children, you will be guided to the nursery and/or other appropriate locations.

What do I do before the service starts?
There are light refreshments available. Many people will be greeting one another during this time. Some folks find a seat and prepare their hearts to worship through solemn reflection.

What are the services like?
Services generally last about 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Our worship services are a

time of joyful worship and praise, with a variety of hymns and fellowship opportunities

before and after.

What is the pastor’s message like?
Our Pastor gives Bible-based messages lasting about 35-45 minutes. His messages are expositional, timely, relevant, applicable, and Christ-centered. Generally he will have handout notes available to help you grasp and remember the Bible truths taught.

What version of the Bible do you use in preaching and teaching?
We primarily use the New American Standard Bible and at times the King James Version.  We desire to use a word-for-word translation that is in today’s English.

What other opportunities of worship do you offer?

We offer opportunities to serve... opportunities to be taught in a discussion group format... and opportunities to fellowship through dinner fellowships, picnics and other events.
